Kim was the cherished daughter of the late Jay and Norma Jean Whisnant, who instilled in her the values of compassion, integrity, and community service. Raised in a nurturing environment, Kim's early years were filled with love and laughter, shared with her brother, Joey Whisnant, who survives her. Joey was not only her sibling but also her lifelong friend and confidant, sharing countless memories and supporting each other through all of life's journeys. A proud graduate of McDowell High School, Kim excelled in her studies and developed a lifelong passion for learning. Her years at McDowell were marked by her dedication to her studies and her involvement in various extracurricular activities, where she forged friendships that lasted a lifetime. Kim's deep faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her. As a devoted member of Catawba Valley Baptist Church, Kim found solace and purpose in her community, participating actively in church activities and offering her time and talents to support those in need. Her unwavering faith and commitment to her church family were evident in her every endeavor. Throughout her life, Kim was known for her generous spirit and caring nature. She touched the lives of many with her gentle smile, her willingness to listen, and her ability to make everyone feel valued and loved. Whether volunteering at the church or offering a helping hand to a neighbor, Kim's kindness knew no bounds. A service to celebrate Kim's life will be held on April 30, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Catawba Valley Church. Friends and family are invited to come together to honor a life well-lived, to share stories, and to find comfort in the memories of a remarkable woman who brought so much joy to others.
