It is with profound sadness and love that we announce the passing of Kim Simmons, who left us peacefully in her sleep on August 7, 2026. Born on April 10, 1988, in Danville, Virginia, Kim was a beacon of joy and strength to all who had the fortune of knowing her. A proud graduate of George Washington High School, Kim was known for her sharp intellect and a sense of humor that could light up any room. Her laughter was contagious, and her kindness knew no bounds. Whether it was offering a helping hand or a listening ear, Kim’s compassion left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. Kim had a deep love for the outdoors. She found solace in nature, often spending her free time fishing or simply enjoying the beauty of the world around her. Her greatest joy, however, came from being with her family. Kim cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, creating memories that will be treasured forever. She is survived by her father, Henry Simmons Jr., and her devoted siblings: James, Chris, David, Henry III, Kristi, Stephanie, Patricia, and Angie Simmons. Kim was a loving mother to her three children, Matthew, Joshua, and Mackenzie Simmons, who were the light of her life. She was predeceased by her beloved mother, Angela Simmons, with whom she is now reunited. Kim’s life was a testament to the power of love and laughter. Her legacy will continue to live on through her family, who will carry forward her spirit of generosity and warmth. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Kim’s memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her name to a charity of your choice, reflecting Kim’s lifelong commitment to helping others. Kim Simmons will be dearly missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
