Kim Pierre Johnson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kim Pierre Johnson, who departed this world on July 3, 2026, at the age of 64, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born on March 11, 1962, in Los Angeles, California, Kim's journey through life was marked by love, laughter, and an enduring commitment to those he cherished. Kim was the beloved son of the late Carol Lee Hodges Johnson and Arthur Fuller, and was lovingly raised by his mother and his stepfather, George Edward Richard. He was predeceased by his parents, his stepfather, his grandparents Willie Pearl and Peyton Williams, and his niece, Latasha. Kim is survived by his devoted partner, Alexis Lawson, who stood by his side with unwavering love and support. Kim's life was enriched by his family, who held a special place in his heart. He leaves behind his sister, Mischele Palmer; his nephew, Jesse Morrison; uncles Thomas and Richard Hodges; aunts Betty and June Hodges; his stepchildren, Tran and Trenè Lewis; and five beloved grandchildren, Jazmine, Trentin, Tristin, Jayla, and True. Additionally, Kim's legacy extends to a host of play children, cousins, and friends who were touched by his kindness and generosity. A proud alumnus of Gardena High School, Kim graduated in 1980 before enlisting in the Army, where he served as a Food Service Specialist from 1980 to 1983. His dedication to his country and fellow service members was evident in his three years of honorable service. Following his military career, Kim found his calling at the Veterans Administration in Long Beach, where he devoted over two decades of his life, brightening the lives of colleagues and veterans alike with his infectious laugh and quick wit. Kim was an avid sports fan, his heart beating for the San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Los Angeles Sparks. His weekends were often spent cheering on his favorite teams, playing basketball with friends at the park, or enjoying a competitive game of dominoes. Music was another of Kim's passions, providing the soundtrack to many joyous moments in his life. Those who knew Kim will remember his big heart and how deeply he loved his family and friends. His quick wit and laughter left a lasting impression on everyone he met, and his warm spirit will be dearly missed. In honoring Kim's life, a service will be held on August 7, 2026, at 2:15 PM at the Veteran Memorial Cemetery, located at 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA 92518. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Kim. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered love and support during this difficult time. Kim's legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
