In Loving Memory of Kim Khuong Lu It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Kim Khuong Lu, our beloved mother and grandmother, on June 21, 2026, at the age of 87. Kim was born on November 29, 1938, in the picturesque town of Quang Ngai, Vietnam. She lived a life full of love, resilience, and dedication to her family, leaving a legacy of cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Kim was the beloved daughter of the late My Duc Lu and Quynh Thi Huynh. She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Lai Van Ly, with whom she shared a life rich in love and companionship. Together, they raised a beautiful family, whose lives are a testament to the values and warmth that Kim so deeply instilled in them. Kim is survived by her seven children, each of whom she treasured dearly: Donna Phuong Ly and her husband Minh Dao Thanh Nguyen, Tracy Trang Ly and her husband Tung Thanh Nguyen, Steve Hoang Ly and his wife Angela Tien Vu, Long Xuan Ly and his wife Chi Kim Do, Christopher Quang Ly and his wife Heather Hanh Ly, Quyen Thu Ly, and Lien Thu Ly and her husband Duy Tuong Nguyen. Her legacy continues with her nine adored grandchildren: Thomas Tien Nguyen, Tiffany Trinh Ly, Michelle Huyen Ly, Alan Vinh Ly, Elizabeth Thanh Ly, Vivian Lee Tran, Ryan Lee Nguyen, Ethan Lee Nguyen, and Catherine Lee Nguyen. Each grandchild carries forward her spirit and love for life. Kim's life was a tapestry woven with the threads of family, culture, and love. She was known for her gentle spirit, her wisdom, and her unwavering kindness. Her home was always open, a sanctuary filled with warmth, delicious aromas of traditional Vietnamese dishes, and the sound of laughter and love. A service to honor and celebrate Kim's life will be held on July 11, 2026, at 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Rose Hills Memorial Park, located at 3888 Workman Mill Rd, Whittier, California 90601. Family and friends are invited to gather and share in the remembrance of a life beautifully lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Kim's generous spirit and her commitment to helping others. Kim’s presence will be dearly missed, and she will be remembered for her unyielding love, her dedication to family, and her vibrant spirit that touched all who knew her. Though she has left this earthly realm, her legacy lives on in the hearts and minds of her family and friends, and her spirit remains an eternal presence in our lives. We love you and you will always be in our hearts!
