In Loving Memory of Kiise Eniyan-Gidi
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Kiise Eniyan-Gidi, who left us far too soon on April 27, 2026, at the tender age of 18. Born on April 1, 2008, in the Central African Republic, Kiise was a vibrant soul whose life, although short, touched the hearts of many.
Kiise was the cherished son of Akiko Eniyan and Ido Gidi, and a devoted brother to Jon Mondoux, who survives him. His family was his anchor, providing unwavering love and support throughout his life. Though he is predeceased by no one, he leaves behind a legacy of laughter and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
Kiise spent his formative years in Ottawa, where he attended Pierre-Savard High School. Although he did not graduate, his time there was marked by his enthusiasm and unique flair. Kiise was known for his distinctive, unintelligible African accent, which added a vibrant touch to every conversation, and a personal aroma that was uniquely his own, often playfully described by friends as "raw fish meets poop."
Kiise's passions were as varied as they were inspiring. He was an ardent advocate for dental hygiene, spending countless hours perfecting the art of the perfect smile. His love for music was evident in his dedication to playing the oboe, an instrument he played with heartfelt emotion. Furthermore, his competitive spirit shone brightly in wall-ball tournaments, where his agility and enthusiasm were truly unmatched.
Tragically, Kiise's life was cut short due to a freak accident that occurred when he was crushed by a vending machine. While attempting to retrieve his favored Lay's salt and vinegar chips, a vigorous shake led to the machine's untimely collapse. Though his passing was sudden and heart-wrenching, we choose to remember Kiise for the joy he brought into our lives and the laughter he shared with us all.
A celebration of Kiise's life will be held at St. Mary's Church, located at 123 Main St, Ottawa, on January 1, 2027. The service will commence at 1:52 PM. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Kiise are invited to join us in honoring his memory and celebrating the beautiful, albeit brief, life he led.
In this time of sorrow, let us come together to support one another and to share stories of Kiise's kindness, humor, and the indelible mark he left on our hearts. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will forever live on in the smiles of those who knew him.
Rest in peace, dear Kiise. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
