Kia Diane Davis
March 28, 1974 — March 28, 2026
It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Kia Diane Davis, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and cherished friend. Kia transitioned from this life on March 28, 2026, her 52nd birthday, due to a tragic fire at her home. Her journey, which began on March 28, 1974, in Baltimore, Maryland, was marked by love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to those she held dear.
Born to James and Rita (Davis) Pressley, Kia was nurtured in a family filled with love and strength. Her father, James Thomas Davis, predeceased her, leaving a legacy that Kia carried forward with pride and honor. She is survived by her devoted mother, Rita Pressley, and her loving stepfather, Tommie, who supported her through life's many adventures.
Kia was the proud mother of her beloved son, Brandon Davis, and the adoring grandmother to Brooklyn Davis, who brought immense joy to her life. Her sister, Kim Davis, and nephew, Myles Hegie, along with her cherished grandmothers, Una Kathleen Smith and Fannie Davis, remain to celebrate her life and carry on her memory. Her family, along with a host of extended family and close friends, will forever remember the warmth and kindness she brought into their lives.
A graduate of Carver Vocational-Technical High School's Class of 1992, Kia remained an active participant in class activities, cherishing the bonds she formed during those formative years. She pursued her passion in cosmetology, dedicating over 15 years as a talented hair stylist and nail artist. Her clients not only admired the beautiful designs she crafted but also cherished her empathetic listening and counseling skills, which transformed her chair into a sanctuary of trust and friendship.
Kia was a woman of diverse interests and abundant talents. She found solace and joy in music and dancing, and was an artist at heart, painting on canvas and custom designing wine glasses with a unique flair. An avid fan of the Baltimore Ravens, Kia embraced life with enthusiasm, whether she was cooking, enjoying the thrill of the casino, or finding peace in the water, where she could spend an entire day swimming with delight.
Above all, Kia's heart belonged to her family, particularly her son, Brandon, and granddaughter, Brooklyn, who were the center of her universe. She effortlessly wove their stories and achievements into every conversation, illuminating her profound pride and boundless love for them.
Kia embodied the essence of a deep thinker with an insatiable quest for truth—always seeking the complete truth. She was her brother's keeper, a compassionate soul who extended her kindness and wisdom to all who were fortunate to know her.
Her passing leaves an indelible void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. As we gather to celebrate Kia's remarkable life, we find comfort in the memories and laughter she gifted us, and in the enduring legacy of love and kindness she leaves behind.
May she rest in eternal peace, her light forever shining in our hearts.
