Kha'Marion Peterson
December 8, 2008 — April 3, 2026
It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Kha'Marion Peterson, who departed this world on April 3, 2026. Born on December 8, 2009, in the warm embrace of Americus, Georgia, Kha'Marion was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew him during his short yet impactful 16 years of life.
Kha'Marion was the cherished son of James Jones, Jr., and a treasured grandson to Sally (Ray) Lasiter and James (Beverly) Jones. His life was enriched by the loving companionship of his four sisters: T'Kai Westbrook, Khalisha Jones, Khalena, and his dear sister whose name remains unstated. Together, they formed an unbreakable bond, filled with shared laughter, love, and memories that will endure forever.
Educated within the Americus-Sumter County School System and later the Rockford, Illinois School System, Kha'Marion was a bright and diligent student. His passion for learning was rivaled only by his love for basketball and video games. Whether on the court, where his natural talent and competitive spirit shone, or in the virtual worlds that sparked his imagination, Kha'Marion's enthusiasm was infectious. He had an uncanny ability to bring people together, fostering friendships through shared interests and genuine kindness.
Kha'Marion will also be dearly missed by his girlfriend, Zyion Hunt, whose tender companionship brought him immense happiness. Zyion's mother, Michelle Louis, held Kha'Marion in her heart as one of her own, and their bond was a testament to the extended family that love can create.
Beyond his immediate family, Kha'Marion's life was touched by a host of aunts, uncles, and relatives who celebrated his every achievement and comforted him in times of need. His presence was a gift, and his absence is felt deeply by all who knew him.
As we remember Kha'Marion, we celebrate a life lived with zeal and sincerity. He was a young man who embraced each day with a smile, whose laughter could light up the darkest room, and whose warmth left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
In these moments of sorrow, we find solace in the memories of Kha'Marion's kindness, his unwavering love for his family, and his incredible spirit that continues to inspire us. Though his journey was brief, the impact of his presence will be felt for generations to come.
A service celebrating Kha'Marion's life will be held, where family and friends can gather to honor his memory and share stories of a remarkable young man who will forever remain in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to a scholarship fund in Kha'Marion's name, ensuring that his legacy of enthusiasm for education and community continues to thrive.
Rest in peace, dear Kha'Marion. Your spirit will forever soar like the dreams you held so dear.
