With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kevin Tyson, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, who left us too soon on March 12, 2026, in Lima, Ohio. Born on November 17, 1992, Kevin was a beacon of light and warmth to all who knew him. Raised in Lima, he was the cherished son of Sherman Tyson and Susan Goodman, both of whom preceded him in death, along with his dear nephew, Shaheed Imuran.
Kevin's life was a testament to the power of kindness and resilience. From a young age, he exhibited a unique blend of strength and compassion that endeared him to everyone he encountered. His laughter was infectious, and his generosity knew no bounds. Kevin was known for his unwavering support of his family and friends, always ready with a helping hand or a word of encouragement.
A proud graduate of Lima Senior High School, Kevin was a dedicated student with a keen interest in mechanics and technology. His love for understanding how things worked was matched only by his passion for sharing that knowledge with others. Kevin's career reflected his talents and interests, as he spent his professional life working with various automotive companies, where he was much admired for his expertise and commitment.
Family was the cornerstone of Kevin's life. He leaves behind his loving sister, Jennifer Commons, and her family in Warren, Michigan. His nephews, Jam’ur and Hashiem Imuran, held a special place in his heart. Kevin was an inspiring uncle who took great pride in guiding and supporting them as they grew.
Kevin's life was a tapestry woven with threads of love, laughter, and perseverance. His legacy is one of unwavering devotion to those he loved and a steadfast belief in the goodness of people. Though he faced challenges, including the injuries that ultimately led to his passing at Mercy Health, Kevin's courage and determination remained unshaken.
In celebrating Kevin's life, we also remember his enduring spirit and the joy he brought to those around him. His memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege to know him.
A service to honor Kevin's life will be held on March 19, 2026, at 2:30 PM at New Beginnings Ministries, located at 1230 Brice Ave. Family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Kevin are invited to join in remembrance and celebration of his remarkable journey.
