Kevin Patrick McCallum

Kevin McCallum, of Silverdale WA, was born on March 21, 1981, in Monroe, Michigan. He peacefully left this world on July 24, 2026, surrounded by his family and friends. A beloved son, father, brother, and friend, Kevin's warmth and laughter touched the lives of many. The son of Greg and Linda McCallum, Kevin was a proud graduate of South Aiken High School, class of 2000. Shortly after, he answered the call to serve his country, joining the US Army where he served with distinction from 2001 to 2008. Rising to the rank of Sergeant, Kevin completed one tour in Korea and two tours in Iraq with the 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Second Infantry Division. His bravery and dedication earned him the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, and the coveted Expert Infantryman Badge. His army brother and former squad leader, John Kaiser, fondly remembers Kevin as ‘that one soldier that was the glue holding the Company together during tough times’ due to his quick wit and infectious humor. After his military service, Kevin dedicated over two decades to his role as a Material Handler at Naval Base Kitsap at Keyport, Washington. His career was marked by commitment and excellence until he retired in 2025 due to a disability. Kevin was a proud lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, where he found camaraderie and support among fellow veterans. His passions extended beyond his career and service; he was an avid hunter and fisherman, delighting in sharing these experiences with his son, Kendrick. Known for his skills as a master griller, Kevin loved hosting gatherings where he would share delicious meals with friends and neighbors, always eager to bring joy and laughter to those around him. He will be dearly missed by his son, Kendrick of Tacoma WA, his parents, Greg and Linda, and his sister, Maggie all of Aiken, SC. Kevin's legacy of love, laughter, and service will continue to inspire those who knew him.
