With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Kevin Hewitt, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left this earthly realm on June 15, 2026, after a brief illness. Born on January 17, 1965, in Monroe, Louisiana, Kevin's vibrant spirit and love for life touched all who had the privilege of knowing him. Kevin was the cherished son of the late Katie Bradford and Harold Hewitt, both of whom he joins in eternal rest, along with his two brothers, Benny Ray Simmons and Otis Hewitt Sr. Despite these losses, Kevin's legacy of love and resilience lives on in his surviving family members. He leaves behind five devoted sisters: Ida Jenkins, Brenda Pettit, Gwynetta Hewitt, Monica Hays, and Yelonda Simmons, as well as his brother, Kenneth Hewitt. Kevin was a proud and loving father to his daughter, Saless Hewitt, whose life he enriched with wisdom and warmth. His enduring love and guidance also blessed his three grandchildren: Deterriance Hewitt, Nikia Hewitt, and Jaboria Hewitt, and his eight great-grandchildren, who carry forward his spirit and zest for life. Kevin's passion for engineering was evident from his early years. After graduating from Wossman High School, he pursued a certification in Engineering, which led to a fulfilling career as a Mechanical Engineer with Ford. His dedication and meticulous work ethic left an indelible mark on his colleagues and the projects he touched. Beyond his professional achievements, Kevin was an active member of the New Saint James Baptist Church, where his faith and community spirit shone brightly. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures, such as fishing, riding his motorcycle, and, most importantly, spending quality time with family and friends, especially his cherished grandbabies. A celebration of Kevin Hewitt's remarkable life will be held on June 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM at New Saint James Baptist Church, located at 1010 Richwood Road #1, Monroe, LA 71202. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembering the joy, laughter, and love Kevin brought into the world. The Hewitt family extends their deepest gratitude to everyone who has offered kind words, visits, and thoughts during this time of bereavement. Your support has been a source of comfort and strength, and nothing has gone unnoticed. We love you all. Kevin, your journey on earth may have ended, but your spirit will forever remain in our hearts. We find solace in knowing you are at peace, surrounded by the love of those who have gone before. Until we meet again, rest in eternal joy.
