Kevin Gerrity, born on December 18, 1954 in Scranton, Pa. peacefully departed this life on August 10, 2026 in Longmont Co. Kevin's journey through life was marked by his dedication, craftsmanship, and unwavering spirit, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born to William and Marion Gerrity, Kevin grew up in a loving family in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Gerrity Jr. and his sister Suzanne Gerrity, and leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. He will be cherished by his family and friends.
A proud graduate of Scranton High School, Kevin found his calling in carpentry, dedicating 40 years to perfecting his craft in the Longmont-Boulder area. His passion for carpentry was not just a career but a lifelong pursuit that brought joy to his life and beauty to the world around him. Kevin's projects were more than wood and nails; they were expressions of his creativity and skill.
Kevin had three children, Jesse Gerrity, Abby Alarid, and Joel Gerrity. He also had granddaughter Taytum.
Kevin was an active and devoted member of Alcoholics Anonymous for many years, where he offered support, understanding, and hope to countless individuals. His journey was one of strength and resilience, and his contributions to the community will be remembered with gratitude.
Those who knew Kevin will fondly recall his quick wit and the everlasting smile that could light up any room. His humor and warmth were a balm to those around him, and his presence was always a source of comfort. Joan Carlson, his partner, was with him and shared memories for over 40 years.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Longmont Humane Society, an organization dear to Kevin's heart. The family also wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to True Hospice for their compassionate care during Kevin's final days.
Kevin Gerrity's life was a testament to love, laughter, and resilience. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as his spirit continues to live on in the lives he touched.
