Kevin Byers Turner
December 26, 1954 — September 30, 2026
It is with profound sadness and heartfelt gratitude for the time we shared that we announce the peaceful passing of Kevin Byers Turner, who left this world on September 30, 2026, in the comforting embrace of his own home. Born on December 26, 1954, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Kevin was a cherished son of George and Sharon Turner, and a beloved brother to his four brothers and four sisters.
Kevin's life was a tapestry woven with love, family, and a deep-seated passion for crafting and building. His early career as a machinist laid the foundation for a lifetime of skillful work, but it was in carpentry that he truly found his calling. Even in his final days, Kevin could be found lovingly remodeling his home, a testament to his enduring dedication to his craft.
On June 21, 1999, Kevin married the love of his life, Janna Turner. Together, they shared 27 joyful years, filled with laughter and mutual devotion. Janna, along with Kevin's children—Kevin Turner Jr. (Angela), Kristina Turner, and Michael Turner (Rachel)—and stepchildren—Sylvia Lambert, Amanda Scott, Daniel Scott, and Brenda Grovenberry—were very important to him. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren— Veronica ,Walker, Isaac, Landon, Eli, Caramon Bates, Hailey Bates, Jeremy, Christian Byers Cannon, Alexis, Noah, Mike Jr., David, Carmen, Michael Dale, Robert, Nikko, Heavenly, Christian Kane, Alexander, and Sara Jane—and his 12 great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Kevin's hands were never idle, whether he was building RC airplanes, crafting intricate firearms, or working on his home projects. He found solace and satisfaction in bringing his creative visions to life, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful work and cherished memories.
Family and friends will gather to honor Kevin's life on Saturday, October 10, 2026. The celebration of his life will begin with a eulogy service at 1:00 PM, followed by a meal at 2:00 PM. It will be a day of remembrance, where stories will be shared, laughter will mingle with tears, and the bonds of love and respect will uphold all who attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Kevin's memory to a cause close to his heart, which will be shared with those attending the service.
Kevin Byers Turner leaves behind a legacy of love, craftsmanship, and unyielding dedication to his family. His spirit will forever be a guiding light for all who knew and loved him.

God saw you getting tired When a cure was not to be So he wrapped his arms around you And whispered, "Come to me." You didn't deserve what you went through, so he gave you rest God's Garden must be beautiful, For he only takes the best And when I saw you sleeping So peaceful and free from pain I could not wish you back To suffer that again.
