Kermit A. Player

November 7, 1942 — August 15, 2026

Kermit, cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at home on August 15, 2026. Born on November 7, 1944, in Louisiana, Kermit was a beacon of warmth, humor, and love to all who knew him. Kermit's life was a tapestry of dedication, love, and laughter. He was the beloved son of The Player's and is predeceased by his parents, his precious daughter Terri, brothers David, Emmit, Clarence, and sister Willa. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his devoted wife, Christine "Candy," with whom he shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a family filled with love, laughter, and enduring bonds. He is survived by his sons, Kermit Odell and Michael Todd, who carry forward their father's legacy of kindness and humor. His grandchildren, Tamekia, Jasmine, and Torri, held a special place in his heart, and he delighted in teasing them with his trademark warm smile and sense of humor. Kermit's love extended to his great-grandchildren, Jaylen, Christopher, Zoe Marie, and Jace, who brought him immense joy and pride. His sister Alberta also survives him, continuing the family connection. Kermit dedicated 40 years of his life to his work as a Grocery Manager, where he was admired for his diligence and commitment. Beyond his professional life, Kermit found joy in a variety of interests. A sports enthusiast, he also loved playing cards and dominoes, listening to the soulful strains of the blues, and spending time at the race track at Hollywood Park. Each of these passions reflected his zest for life and his love for sharing experiences with those around him. Kermit's presence was a source of comfort and joy. His warm smile could brighten the darkest day, and his sense of humor brought laughter to every gathering, especially when he was playfully teasing his grandchildren. His legacy of love, kindness, and laughter will continue to inspire all who knew him. A celebration of Kermit's life will be held on September 10, 2026, at 1:30 PM at Inglewood Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, honoring Kermit's generous spirit and commitment to making the world a better place. Though Kermit's physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched. As we remember him, let us carry forward his legacy of love, laughter, and kindness, and cherish the beautiful memories he gifted us during his remarkable life.
