It is with heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Keonta "Mukie" Golden, who departed this world on June 4, 2026, at the age of 41. Keonta was born on July 26, 1984, in Gulfport, Mississippi, and from the very beginning, she brought immense joy and a radiant spirit to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Keonta was the beloved daughter of Linda Golden, who nurtured her with love and guided her through life with gentle wisdom. She was preceded in death by her cherished grandparents, Willie and Portia Golden, whose legacy of love and resilience she carried forward. Keonta is survived by her devoted sister, GeAnna May, and her brother-in-law, Jason; her brother, Willie Golden; and a host of nieces and nephews who she adored: Janaya Golden, David Belle, Jayson Golden, Jace Golden, and Jayvion Golden. She also leaves behind her godparents, Rafer and Willene Collins, who played a significant role in her life. A proud graduate of Bay High School, Keonta had a passion for life that was evident in her love for scary movies and SpongeBob, which never failed to bring a smile to her face. Her warm smile was a beacon of light to those around her, and her infectious laugh was most prominent when she heard others cursing, a testament to her joyful spirit and sense of humor. Keonta's family and friends remember her fondly for her ability to find joy in the simple things and the warmth she shared so freely. Her laughter, her unwavering kindness, and her genuine love for those around her will be deeply missed but forever cherished. A celebration of Keonta's life will be held on what would have been her 42nd birthday, July 26, 2026, at 5:00 PM. The service will take place at the Golden Family Home, located at 102 Watts St. It is a fitting tribute that this gathering will occur in a place filled with so many memories of joy and love. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to all who have supported and stood by Keonta throughout her life. A special note of gratitude goes to Theresa Collins, whose unwavering support was invaluable. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Keonta’s honor to a charity of your choice, reflecting her loving spirit and compassion. Keonta "Mukie" Golden’s life was a testament to the beauty of love, laughter, and resilience. As we bid farewell, we remember her not with sorrow, but with gratitude for the light she brought into our lives. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory continue to inspire warmth and joy in all who knew her.
