December 13, 1958 — October 13, 2026

Kennie R. Jones, Sr. was born on December 13, 1958, to the late Allen and Savannah Jones. He was the youngest of five children. Kennie attended Hanover County Public Schools, where he learned early the importance of hard work, family, and caring for those he loved. On August 19, 1989, Kennie married the love of his life, Vera Lewis Jones. Their union was blessed with two children, Kennie Jones, Jr. and Uconia Jones. His love and devotion to his family remained strong throughout his life. Kennie accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of Brown Grove Baptist Church. He worked for many years at Hanover Custom Buildings and later as a detailer at McGeorge RV Camping World. Kennie was a hardworking, outspoken man who always spoke his mind. You never had to guess how he felt because he would tell you! He believed in standing firm, working hard, and keeping family close. He was a loyal fan of the Oakland Raiders, LA Lakers, and LA Dodgers. He also enjoyed listening to Prince, Sade, Keith Sweat, and Earth, Wind & Fire. Beneath his strong personality was a man who loved his family deeply and never minded helping others. His laughter, conversations, and unforgettable personality will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. On October 13, 2026, Kennie unexpectedly entered eternal rest, surrounded by his loving family at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital. As I Sit in Heaven

As I sit in heaven and watch you everyday, I try to let you know with signs I never went away. I hear you when you're laughing and watch you as you sleep. I even place my arms around you to calm you as you weep. I see you wish the days away, begging to have me home. So I try to send you signs so you know you are not alone. Don't feel guilty that you have life that was denied to me. Heaven is truly beautiful, just you wait and see. So live your life, laugh again, enjoy yourself, be free. Then I know with every breath you take, you'll be taking one for me.

Special Thanks

The family wishes to thank the staff at Henrico Doctors Hospital for their compassionate care. "Forever in our hearts."
