Endicott, NY - Kenneth Snavely, peacefully went to be with the Lord on February 13, 2026. Born on August 5, 1929, in Endicott, NY, Ken was a man whose life was marked by devotion, service, and love.
Ken was the cherished son of Paul and Jessie Snavely, both of whom predeceased him. He was also predeceased by his beloved wife of 71 years, Shirley Snavely, his cherished daughter Renee Keller, son-in-law Mark Roger, and siblings Bob, Earl, Jim, Betty, Elaine, Janette, and Grace. His life, however, continues to be celebrated by his surviving family: his children Dave and Penny Snavely, Sherry Haun, and Connie Rogers; son-in-law Rich Keller; his 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. His brothers Frank & Richard Snavely also survives him, sharing the legacy of their family.
Ken graduated from Newark Valley High School and continued his education at Broome Community College. A patriot at heart, he served in the US Army during the Korean conflict, dedicating four years of his life to the service of his country. Following his military service, Ken built a fulfilling career at IBM, where he worked for over 30 years, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.
His life was woven with threads of deep faith and unwavering love, being a spiritual leader and an example of unconditional devotion to all who knew him. His marriage to Shirley Reese on September 11, 1953, was a cornerstone of his life. Together, they raised four children and celebrated 71 years of shared faith and enduring love—a true testament to eternal commitment.
Ken's passion for old cars was legendary, and he found joy in visiting car museums and attending car shows with his son and daughters. His resourcefulness and ability to fix anything made him a hero in the eyes of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who knew they could always count on him.
A man of gentle spirit and generous heart, Ken's caring and giving nature left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. His life was a beacon of love and kindness, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Ken's life, in keeping with his humble nature. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, an organization close to Ken's heart.
Though he has departed this earthly realm, Ken's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends, who will carry his memory forward with love and gratitude. May he rest in peace, embraced by the eternal love of the Lord.
