Kenneth Scott Mauldin

Kenneth Scott Mauldin, a beloved husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather, peacefully passed away at his home on September 4, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on February 13, 1941, in Mecklenburg County, Kenneth's life was a testament to dedication, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community. The son of the late James Howard Mauldin and Ada Lee Barbee, Kenneth was preceded in death by his brother, James H. Mauldin Jr., and two sisters, Jeanette Mauldin Kelly and Alyce Mauldin Rick. His legacy, however, continues to thrive through his loving family and the countless lives he touched with his kindness and humor. Kenneth's journey began in Belmont, where he graduated from Belmont High School. He spent many years working as a textile mechanic, a career that showcased his industrious nature and skillful expertise. Beyond his professional life, Kenneth was a proud member of Catawba Heights Baptist Church, where he found solace and community. A sports enthusiast, Kenneth's love for games was infectious. Whether it was baseball, basketball, or football, if a ball was involved, Kenneth was there to watch with enthusiasm and joy. This passion for sports was only matched by his great sense of humor and his reputation as a jokester, qualities that endeared him to all who knew him. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of nearly 66 years, Sybil Mauldin, who stood by his side through every chapter of their life together. His children, Lisa Mauldin Dunn and her husband Michael, and Gregory Mauldin and his wife Leslie, remember him as a caring father who guided them with love and wisdom. His legacy continues with his grandchildren, Kenneth Hobie Dunn and his wife Katie, and Natalie Grace Dunn, as well as his great-grandchildren, Reagan Kathleen Dunn and Delaney Grace Dunn, who will carry forward the values and spirit he instilled in them. A service to honor Kenneth's life will be held on September 8, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the First Methodist Church Mount Holly, located at 140 N Main Street. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate the life of a man who gave so much of himself to others. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, a gesture that reflects Kenneth's generosity and compassion for others. Kenneth Scott Mauldin leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and integrity. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
