Kenneth was the beloved son of the late Joan Waldemarsen Samuelsen and the cherished grandson of Viola Dobler Waldemarsen, who predeceased him. He is survived by his devoted niece, Robyn Samuelsen and her wife Abbie and his treasured great-nephew and great-niece, Odyn and Onarena Samuelsen. Kenneth also leaves behind many extended family members who will continue to honor his memory.
A proud Army veteran, Kenneth served his country with dedication and honor. Following his military service, he embarked on a career as a long-haul trucker, known affectionately on the CB radio waves as "Catfish." His warm and welcoming "Greetings" hello was a signature trait that endeared him to friends and strangers alike, embodying his genuine, kind-hearted nature. Kenneth was always willing to lend a helping hand and was known for his unwavering generosity.
Kenneth found great joy in the outdoors, with a particular fondness for the serene beauty of Cataloochee. His love for nature was matched only by his pride in his Norwegian heritage, which he celebrated throughout his life. Kenneth's adventurous spirit and appreciation for the great outdoors were infectious, inspiring those around him to relish the simple pleasures of life.
Though he leaves no grandchildren or great-grandchildren, Kenneth's legacy lives on through his family and friends, who continue to share stories of his kindness, humor, and zest for life. His life was a testament to the power of compassion and the impact of a well-lived life.
