In Loving Memory

Kenneth Michael Howe Jr. aka Mike
January 10, 1973 — June 1, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Michael Howe Jr., affectionately known as Mike, who unexpectedly left us on June 1, 2026, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. Born on January 10, 1973, in Gastonia, NC, Mike was the beloved son of Kenny and Ginger Howe. He is survived by his loving family, including sisters Kym Wilkerson (Mark), Kelly Howe (Jim Huckin), and his cherished nephew, Arlo Huckin. He also leaves behind his dear aunts, Patsy Forster and Carolyn Klontz, his uncle Johnny Forster, and numerous cousins and friends, including his close friend, Justin.
Mike was predeceased by his grandparents, Ed and Katie Howe, his uncle, Danny Howe, his grandma, Pauline Forster, and uncle Bobby Forster. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.
A proud graduate of Horry Georgetown Technical College, Mike earned a degree in Golf Course Management, a testament to his love for the outdoors and sportsmanship. His career took him to various locations, including Panama City Beach, but he found his last adventure in Waynesville, North Carolina.
In his leisure time, Mike was known for his love of music and the joy he found in spending time with friends and family, especially during the holidays. His quick wit and intelligent conversations made him a joy to be around, and he was someone who could light up any room with his presence.
Mike had a vast appreciation for the world and all its creatures, and he was known for his fondness and compassion towards animals of every kind. This love extended beyond conversation; it was a genuine part of his character and life.
A private ceremony will be held to honor Mike's life, and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Humane Society or ASPCA in his memory, to continue his legacy of compassion towards animals.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Mission Hospital, Asheville Mortuary Services, and to Justin Furman for their exceptional care and support during this difficult time.
May Kenneth Michael Howe Jr.'s memory be a blessing to all who knew him, as his spirit will forever remain with us, bringing warmth and light to our hearts.
