Kenneth Lee Tyson aka CoKe

It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt gratitude for his life that we announce the passing of Kenneth Lee Tyson, a beloved father, brother, friend, and community leader. Born on July 12, 1965, in Augusta, Georgia, Kenneth was a cherished son to the late Luther W. Tyson and Annie Mae Tyson and a devoted brother to Alphonso Tyson, Ulirike (Ulie) Tyson, and Virlicia Wood. Kenneth, or "Ken" as he was fondly known, was embraced by a loving family that included his ex-wife, Arnita Tyson, and their three beautiful daughters, Tiara Tyson, Janai Tyson, and Aliyah Tyson. Though their marriage ended, Kenneth and Arnita remained close friends, bound by the shared love and pride for their daughters. Kenneth's heart was also deeply connected to his circle of close friends: Leonard (Cheryl) Bolanos, Kevin Horton, James (Rosetta) Parker, and Leroy (Sheila) Young, who were like family to him. A proud alumnus of Zweibrucken American High School in West Germany, Kenneth graduated in 1984 and continued his educational journey by earning a Bachelor of Science degree and later a Master of Arts degree from Webster University. His academic accomplishments were matched by his commendable military service. Kenneth served in the U.S. Army for an impressive twenty-one and a half years, completing assignments across the globe in places such as Mainz, Germany; Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; Fort Hood, Texas; Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Camp Casey, North Korea; and Fort Campbell, Kentucky. His unwavering dedication to his country was evident in his roles as Director of Logistics and Senior Logistics Advisor, culminating in his career as a Logistics Project Specialist for Siemens Government Services. Kenneth's life was a testament to service, both in his career and in his community. As a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at Shiloh Baptist Church, he touched many lives with his faith and wisdom. His commitment to serving others extended beyond the church, as he diligently volunteered for Meals on Wheels, bringing not just meals but companionship to those in need. Known for his infectious laugh that could light up any room, Kenneth was a cherished friend to many. He had a passion for sports, excelling in basketball, football, baseball, and track & field during his school years. His competitive spirit and love for sports remained with him throughout his life. Kenneth's life will be celebrated in a memorial service on August 28, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, located at 920 E. 14th St., Plano, Texas 75074. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the many acts of kindness, prayers, and gestures of support received during this time of bereavement. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a preferred charity of choice in Kenneth's memory. Though Kenneth has left this world, his legacy of love, service, and laughter will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
