It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Kenneth Howell, who departed this world peacefully at his home on February 13, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on July 12, 1960, in Flint, Michigan, Kenneth was a cherished son of the late Authur and Maetrice Howell. His life was a testament to quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, and a love that knew no bounds.
Kenneth was a proud graduate of Beecher High School, where he laid the foundation for a life rich in friendship and community. His career as a chef at the Flint Masonic Temple spanned over 15 years, where he delighted many with his culinary skills and warm hospitality. Later, Kenneth transitioned to M&M Flow Through as an inspector, where he worked diligently until his retirement in 2010.
Known for his laid-back demeanor, quiet presence, quick wit, and warm smile, Kenneth was a man who left an indelible mark on everyone he met. He was a steadfast friend and a pillar of support for his family, always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh. Kenneth's authenticity was one of his most endearing qualities; to know him was to know a man true to himself and those around him.
Kenneth had a passion for life's simple pleasures. He found joy in listening to music, cheering on his favorite sports teams, and, above all, spending cherished moments with family and friends. His home was a place of warmth and laughter, where all were welcome.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Authur and Maetrice Howell; his brother, Preston Howell; brother-in-laws Jim Tillmon, Joseph Nelson, and Mose Rison; nephews David Howell Sr., Duntai Howell, and Marshall Howell; niece Tamara Nelson; and many cherished cousins and aunts who welcomed him with open arms.
He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: siblings Louise Tillmon, Patricia Rison, and Benard Howell; nephews Ray Howell, Clarance Howell, Yaves Nelson Sr., Darcey Nelson, Preston Howell Jr., Tadaryl and Malinda Nelson, Corry Howell, Jim Tillmon III; nieces Patrina and Martenis Howell-Vaugh, Patrice Nelson, Tashawn Howell, Tamiko Howell, Shay and George Barnes, Joyce Howell, Cynthia Howell, Sherice Robinson, Gertoya Woods, and Jonelle Joshua. Kenneth's legacy also includes a host of grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins, and close friends Larry Cristle and James Campbell, who will miss his steadfast presence.
Kenneth Howell was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend whose life was a testament to kindness, loyalty, and love. As we say goodbye, we honor the man who was, and will always be, a guiding light in our lives. His memory will be forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Kenneth's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to remember and honor this remarkable man. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Kenneth's memory to a charity of your choice, spreading the kindness he so effortlessly shared.
