It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Kenneth E. Scott, who departed from this world on June 10, 2026. Kenneth was born on November 8, 1954, in the vibrant city of Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Fred and Vivian Scott, who both preceded him in death. He was a cherished son, a devoted father, a loving brother, and a treasured friend to many.
Kenneth’s journey through life was rich and full, marked by a deep commitment to his family and his country. Raised alongside his ten siblings, Kenneth cherished the values of unity and love that his parents instilled in him. His siblings—Joe Cowan, Merilee Wortham, Fred Lovan, Gregory Scott, Valinda Rhoden, Clifford Scott, Diane Johnson, Peter Scott, Vivian Scott, and Mary Jones—formed the backbone of his life, providing him with endless support and companionship.
From a young age, Kenneth exhibited a keen sense of duty and responsibility. He spent his formative years in Compton, California, where he attended middle and high school. Shortly after graduating, Kenneth answered the call to serve his nation by enlisting in the United States Air Force. He served with distinction for eight years, embodying the values of honor, courage, and commitment.
Following his honorable discharge, Kenneth transitioned to a career with the U.S. Government, where he dedicated many years to the Immigration Services in downtown Los Angeles. His work ethic and dedication made a significant impact on countless lives, and he took great pride in his role, contributing to the betterment of the community he served.
Kenneth was a man of many passions, with a particular fondness for automobiles. He took immense pleasure in maintaining his cars, ensuring they were always pristine. His love for music and dance was infectious; he often proclaimed that a party couldn’t truly begin until he arrived. His lively spirit and joy for life brought happiness to those around him, making every gathering memorable.
Family was the cornerstone of Kenneth’s life. He was a devoted father to his sons, Kenneth Jr. and Curtis, and his daughter, Tiana. His legacy continues through his five beloved grandchildren, who brought immense joy and pride to his life. Kenneth’s generous heart was known to all, especially by his nieces and nephews, who fondly remember the love and generosity he showered upon them.
Kenneth's quiet strength was evident to those who knew him well. Though he was a man of few words, his presence spoke volumes. His kindness, empathy, and unwavering support were a source of comfort to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He had a unique ability to connect with people, leaving a lasting impression on acquaintances and friends alike.
As we celebrate the life of Kenneth E. Scott, we remember him as a beacon of light and love. His spirit will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Though he may be gone from our sight, he will never be absent from our memories. May he rest in eternal peace, reunited with his parents, and forever cherished by those he leaves behind.
A memorial service to honor Kenneth’s life will be held at a later date, where friends and family will gather to share cherished memories and bid farewell to a remarkable man. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Kenneth's name to a veteran's charity of choice, continuing his legacy of service and compassion.
