Kenneth Dwayne Skinner
October 3, 1963 — April 28, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Dwayne Skinner, affectionately known as Kenny, who departed this life on April 28, 2026, at the age of 62. Kenny was born on October 3, 1963, in the charming town of Cadiz, Kentucky, to the late Ricks Skinner, Jr. and Jewell Cheatham Skinner, both of whom he has now joined in eternal rest.
Kenny was a cherished brother to his predeceased siblings, Bobby Skinner, Gaylon Skinner, and Sylvia Calhoun. He is lovingly remembered by his surviving brothers, Johnny Skinner and Tim Skinner, and his devoted sisters, Linda Choate, Brenda Taylor, and Donna Allen. His life was further enriched by the love and laughter of his many nieces and nephews, who brought him immense joy and companionship.
Kenny was a proud and cherished member of the Pugh Flat Baptist Church, where he found community and spiritual solace. Despite the challenges posed by his disabilities, Kenny embraced life with an infectious enthusiasm that was evident to all who knew him.
One of Kenny's greatest passions was his unwavering love for John Deere tractors, a fascination that brought him endless delight. He had a keen interest in law enforcement, often captivated by the world of cop shows on television and the presence of police officers in real life. The Dukes of Hazard was another favorite, a show that brought him joy and laughter.
Fishing was one of Kenny's treasured pastimes, and he held a firm belief that the secret to a successful catch was a small, playful ritual that involved spitting on his hook. This whimsical tradition was emblematic of Kenny's unique and endearing personality.
Kenny's presence in the lives of those who knew him was marked by a spirit of innocence and joy. His gentle nature and warm heart touched everyone he encountered, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Kenny's life, although challenged by disabilities, was a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the capacity for joy in the simplest of pleasures.
As we bid farewell to our beloved Kenny, we take solace in the knowledge that he is now at peace, reunited with his parents and siblings who went before him. His memory will forever remain a source of comfort and inspiration to his family and friends.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date to celebrate Kenny’s life, where stories will be shared, tears will be shed, and laughter will echo in remembrance of a man who brought so much light into the world.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Kenny's memory to organizations that support individuals with disabilities, honoring his life and the joy he brought to others.
Rest in peace, dear Kenny. You will be dearly missed and forever loved.
