Kenneth Danford
November 21, 1947 — May 20, 2026
It is with heavy hearts but profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Kenneth Danford, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Kenneth left this world peacefully on May 20, 2026, at the age of 78, surrounded by the enduring love of his family.
Kenneth was born on November 21, 1947, in Brenham, Texas, to Lily and Earl Danford, Sr. He was the youngest of a spirited family and grew up alongside his siblings Earl, Lavern, Doris, and Deborah. His upbringing in the heart of Texas instilled in him a love for the outdoors and a deep appreciation for family values. Kenneth graduated from West Columbia High School in 1966, a milestone that marked the beginning of a remarkable journey.
On October 22, 1966, Kenneth married the love of his life, Gwendolyn Woodard, in a joyful ceremony in Brazoria, Texas. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and wonderful memories over their 60-year marriage. Their daughter Deanna, along with her husband Jason Martin, blessed Kenneth and Gwen with grandchildren Presley and Jacob, and great-grandchildren Cooper and Banks, who were the light of Kenneth's life. Kenneth found immense joy in sharing his love for gardening, particularly his expertise in growing tomatoes, with his grandchildren.
Kenneth dedicated 35 years to Dow Chemical Company as a shipping coordinator, where he was known for his unwavering work ethic and his kindness towards colleagues. His commitment to his work was matched only by his passion for the outdoors. Kenneth found solace and adventure in deer hunting in West Texas and running trot lines in the Brazos, hobbies that connected him deeply to nature and brought him great joy.
In addition to his immediate family, Kenneth is survived by his brother-in-law Bob Burk, sister-in-law Ginger Danford, and a close-knit circle of nephews, nieces, great-nieces, and great-nephews, including James (Lori) Shank, Bobby (Debra) Fielden, Kenneth John Rabe, Debra Marks, Amanda Rabe, and Melinda Danford. Kenneth's generosity of spirit and kindness left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Kenneth was predeceased by his beloved parents Lily and Earl Danford, Sr., his brother Earl, his sisters Lavern (Billy), Doris, and Deborah (Johnny), and his nephews Mike and Mark Danford. Though we mourn their loss alongside Kenneth's, we take comfort in knowing that they are now reunited.
A celebration of Kenneth's life will be held on May 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM at C.T. Baker and Sons Funeral Home, located at 634 S Columbia Dr., West Columbia, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Kenneth's memory to the Hydrocephalus Association, a cause close to his heart, at https://www.hydroassoc.org/.
As we say goodbye to Kenneth, we remember a man who lived with purpose, loved deeply, and cherished the simple joys of life. His legacy of love, kindness, and strength will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
