Kenneth Ardell Williams, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, peacefully passed away in his sleep at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Illinois. Born on February 2, 1965, in East St. Louis, Illinois, Kenneth's life was a testament to faith, perseverance, and love. Kenneth was the cherished son of Eddie Lee Williams and Dorothy Mae Woods-Williams. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, his ex-wife Beverly Kaye Byas-Williams, and siblings Thomas Lavern Williams, Eddie Lee Williams Jr., Berniece Marie Williams, Beverly Kay Williams, and Kim Lanore Williams. Kenneth is survived by his devoted son, Terrance Williams, and his adored grandson, Keagan Williams. He also leaves behind his dear sisters Mary Catherine Williams Medley, Jewel Valarie Williams, Dana Renata Williams Jackson, and Doris Renee Williams Irving, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly. Kenneth received his early education in East St. Louis and graduated from East St. Louis Senior High School. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the Army, where he served his country with honor and dedication. After his military service, Kenneth married his high school sweetheart, Beverly Byas, and they embarked on their journey together. Throughout his career, Kenneth was known as a hardworking and dedicated man. He held various positions, starting as a radiologist at Western Baptist, then working at Walmart, and as a cook at Holman House Cafeteria. Later, he served as a laborer at a meatpacking facility in Cahokia, Illinois. Despite a work-related injury that led to multiple surgeries and forced him into retirement, Kenneth's life was a testament to strength and resilience. Kenneth was a man of faith, deeply rooted in his love for Jesus Christ. Baptized at an early age, he became a dedicated member of the Apostolic Church. He believed in the power of prayer and offered spiritual encouragement to those around him. One of his cherished traditions was sharing inspirational gifts and religious keepsakes with his sister Dana, reflecting his desire to uplift his loved ones. In his early years, Kenneth experienced the profound loss of his mother to cancer. Despite this early tragedy, he found joy in simple pleasures, such as riding his toy fire truck, climbing trees, and savoring the meals prepared by his father, an exceptional cook. Kenneth's love for his family was unwavering, and he cherished every moment spent with them, especially as a father and grandfather. A service to honor Kenneth's life will be held on October 23, 2026. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Kenneth's memory.
