Kennedy Elester Roland, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, at the age of 62. Born on January 29, 1964, in Columbus, Mississippi, Kennedy's life was a testament to love, dedication, and unwavering faith. Kennedy was the cherished son of the late George and Sarah Roland, who instilled in him the values of hard work, compassion, and faith. His early spiritual journey began at Baptist Grove in Ethelsville, Alabama, where he committed his life to Christ, a foundation that guided him throughout his life. In his professional life, Kennedy dedicated many years to serving the City of Columbus Public Works. His commitment to his work and community was evident to all who knew him. He was a man of integrity and diligence, respected and admired by his colleagues for his unwavering dedication. Kennedy was preceded in death by his devoted parents, George and Sarah Roland; his brothers, Raymond E. Roland and Michael Roland; and his beloved aunt, Mildred Dismuke. Their memories were always cherished by Kennedy, and he now joins them in eternal rest. He leaves behind a family that adored him deeply. Kennedy is survived by his siblings: Martha Roland McCoy of Decatur, GA; Brenda K. Garner of Columbus, MS; Bettie A. (Nathaniel) Key of Stockbridge, GA; Janice Tate of Columbus, MS; and Andre (Wini) Roland of Clarkston, GA. His aunt, Virginia Miller, also survives him. Kennedy's legacy continues through his loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Kennedy's memory will forever live on in the hearts of his adoring nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of other relatives and dear friends. His warmth, kindness, and laughter touched many lives, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Kennedy's presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to blossom in the lives of those he touched. His life was a beautiful reflection of love and faith, and his legacy will be honored and celebrated by his family and friends.
