Keith Shorb,79 , of Westminster , SC, completed his remarkable journey after bravely facing a long-term illness. Born in South Bend, Keith's life was a tapestry of dedication, care, and joy, interwoven with vibrant threads of education, career, and personal fulfillment.
A man of great intellect and drive, Keith pursued his education with passion, earning a bachelor's degree from Grace College, followed by a master's degree from Purdue University. His academic achievements were a testament to his unwavering commitment to lifelong learning and growth.
Keith dedicated much of his professional life to teaching, imparting wisdom and inspiration to countless students. His career began at Griffith Public Schools, where he not only taught but also coached several sports teams, nurturing both the minds and bodies of young learners. He continued his educational journey at Clifford Pierce Middle School and later shared his knowledge at Purdue University, leaving an indelible mark on every institution he graced.
Parallel to his educational endeavors, Keith excelled in the world of real estate, showcasing his versatility and ambition. As a broker with McColly and later with BRG, he demonstrated a keen eye for opportunity and a deep understanding of the market.
Outside of his professional life, Keith found joy in a variety of pursuits. An avid golfer and enthusiastic boater, he relished the serenity and challenge these activities offered. His love for Clemson football was infectious, often sparking spirited conversations and camaraderie among friends and family.
Keith's warmth and kindness touched many lives. His gentle spirit and genuine care for others endeared him to all who knew him. He leaves behind a rich legacy of love and fond memories, cherished by those whose lives he so profoundly influenced.
He is survived by his beloved son, Brandon of Indiana; his devoted sister, Joan (Wayne) Weaver of Florida; his caring brother, Linn (Kay) Shorb of North Carolina; and his dear friend and caregiver, Jacquelyn Durall. They, along with many friends and extended family, hold his memory close to their hearts. Keith was predeceased by his cherished daughter, Michelle, whose memory he carried lovingly throughout his life.
In accordance with his wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor Keith's life. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Keith's name to a charity of your choice.
May Keith's life be a beacon of inspiration, and his memory a blessing to all who knew him.
