With heavy hearts but with gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Keith”Kiki “Bowens, who left us unexpectedly on April 7, 2026, due to a tragic incident. Born in the vibrant borough of the Bronx 1385 Washington Avenue on September 12, 1965, Keith brought light and laughter to all who knew him throughout his 60 years. Keith was the beloved son of the late Ann Bowens and brother to the late Issac Bowens. He is survived by his loving siblings, Pamela Bowens-Swann, Kevin Bowens, and Wendell Bowens, who will carry forward his legacy of warmth and humor. He leaves behind his cherished children, Keith Hayes, Keyshawna Hayes, Anna Hayes, and Joy Hayes, who were the pride and joy of his life. His memory will also be lovingly upheld by his seven grandchildren—Ryleigh, Askari, Major, Legend, Kenzo, Loyal, and Zal’lani—who adored their grandfather's infectious laughter and playful spirit. Keith's professional life was dedicated to serving his community, working in a chain of neighborhood stores where his friendly demeanor and reliable service made him a beloved figure among colleagues and patrons alike. Beyond his career, Keith found joy in music and treasured moments spent with friends, often lending a helping hand to elders in the community. His spunk and outgoing attitude were hallmarks of his personality, and he was known for his self-proclaimed comedic talent, always finding the humor in life’s moments. Keith's goddaughter, Letisha, and daughter-in-law, Meli, were also important in his life, sharing in the many stories and laughter that marked his days. His love for his family and friends was evident in the way he lived, bringing people together with his characteristic warmth and generosity. A service to celebrate Keith's life will be held on May 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM-6:00PM, at the Manhattan Funeral Home, located at 2242 1st Avenue filling a celebration memorial in front of 1385 Washington Avenue . Family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched are invited to join in honoring Keith's memory and sharing stories of the joy he brought into the world.
