Obituary: Keith Antonio Martin It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Keith Antonio Martin, a cherished father, loving brother, devoted grandfather, and esteemed chef. Keith left this world peacefully at home on May 28, 2026, at the age of 63, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and culinary excellence. Born on August 8, 1962, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Keith was the beloved son of Lauradeen Martin and Keith Johnson, who predeceased him. His early years in Atlantic City shaped the man he would become—a passionate and dedicated individual with a vivacious spirit. A proud alumnus of Atlantic City High School, Keith nurtured a lifelong passion for the culinary arts. He began his career in the bustling Atlantic City casinos, where he honed his skills and developed a reputation for exceptional talent. Keith’s culinary journey led him to Columbus, Ohio, where he rose to the prestigious position of Head Chef. His skill in the kitchen earned him numerous awards and accolades, a testament to his dedication and creativity. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Keith was a man of simple pleasures. He found immense joy in the serenity of his yard and was often found tending to his grill, where he crafted meals infused with love and flavor. His love for cooking was only rivaled by his love for his family and friends, with whom he shared countless meals and cherished memories. Keith leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold him in their hearts. He is survived by his children: Kaneefah Pettus of Las Vegas, NV; Nydia Williams and her husband Omarr of Pleasantville, NJ; and his twin daughters, Amirah and Amaya Martin of Columbus, OH. He was a proud grandfather to Ishmail, Shareef, Ni’Tai, and Ni’Lani, who brought immense joy to his life. Keith is also survived by his devoted sisters, Yvette Sinclair and her husband Charles of Mullins, SC, and Deanie Martin of Galloway, NJ. He shared a special bond with his nieces, Pamela Martin and Ra’Neeka Boyd, and cherished the love and companionship of a host of family and friends. Keith’s family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. In their own words, “Forever In Our Hearts,” Keith’s memory will continue to inspire and comfort all who knew him. As we say goodbye to Keith, we remember him not only for his culinary achievements but for the warmth he brought into our lives. His legacy will endure through the countless lives he touched with his kindness, generosity, and delicious meals. Services to celebrate Keith’s life will be held in his honor, where family and friends will gather to share stories, reminisce, and honor a life lived with passion and love.
