Keith Anthony Pollard
May 12, 1961 — June 4, 2026
It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Keith Anthony Pollard, affectionately known as "Jelly" to those who cherished his infectious laughter and warm heart. Keith left this world on June 4, 2026, embraced in love and surrounded by family. Although his departure feels too soon, the legacy he leaves behind will eternally light the lives he touched.
Born on May 12, 1961, in Washington, D.C., Keith was the beloved son of Yvette “Dump” Pollard and Anthony Pollard. From his earliest days, he exhibited a warmth and humor that would become his hallmark. He graduated from Anacostia Senior High School in 1982, a place where he first began to hone his natural charisma and gift for connecting with others.
Keith answered the call of duty and served his country with honor as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps from 1983 to 1987. His years in the service were marked by determination and camaraderie, traits he carried with him throughout his life.
In 1990, Keith embarked on a career in the school system, dedicating two decades to fostering positive environments for students. Known as the "best school environment specialist," he brought joy and stability to countless young lives. His career evolved as he began working with adults in assisted living facilities, where his compassion and humor continued to brighten the days of those he cared for.
Keith's personal qualities were as boundless as his love for his family. Known for his quick wit and the ability to "make you feel the laughter in your back," he could lift spirits with a mere glance or a well-timed joke. A great listener, Keith was the epitome of generosity, always ready to offer the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
Keith's legacy is carried forward by his devoted wife of 21 years, Ellen Griffin-Pollard, and his beloved children, Ashlee, Ajai, and Braxton. His spirit and humor live on in his cherished grandchildren: April, Amour, Braelyn, and Braxton Jr. He was predeceased by a host of family and friends who now welcome him with open arms.
As we bid farewell to a remarkable father, husband, grandfather, and friend, we find solace in the memories he leaves behind—memories filled with laughter, love, and a life beautifully lived. Keith's family will honor his life with a private ceremony, celebrating the joy and light he brought into the world.
Though we mourn his loss, we celebrate the extraordinary life of Keith Anthony Pollard, a man who taught us all the enduring power of laughter and love. May his memory be a blessing, and may his spirit continue to inspire us all.
