Keith Erwin

It is with great sadness and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Keith Erwin, a husband, stepfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. Keith departed this world on May 30, 2026, at the age of 82, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and love that will forever be cherished by those who knew him. Born on September 28, 1943, in the tranquil town of Greencastle, Indiana, Keith was the cherished son of Raymond and Aradath Erwin. He was blessed with a loving family and is now reunited in peace with his parents and his brothers, Donald and Glenn Erwin, who preceded him in death. Keith's educational journey began at George Washington High School, where he graduated with a spirit of curiosity and determination that would guide him throughout his life. He continued his education in trade school, developing skills that would become foundational to his career. For 36 years, Keith dedicated himself as a draftsman at Grinding and Polishing, dedication earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. In 1987, Keith married, Ann (Green) Smith, on August 29th. Their marriage of 38 years was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Keith embraced Ann's family as his own, becoming a stepfather to Stacey Trover, Steve Smith, Mary Sayer, and Elizabeth Smith. His brother Lowell Erwin and numerous nieces and nephews also survive him, each holding dear memories. An active member of his community, Keith found spiritual enrichment and fellowship as a member of both the Seventh and Eighth United Christian Church and Wesley United Methodist Church. His faith was a guiding light, inspiring his involvement and service within these communities. Keith was a man of many passions, with a profound love for the great outdoors and the simple joy of bowling or playing cards with friends. He shared these joys with everyone around him, creating countless memories. Those who knew Keith will remember him not only for his warmth and generosity but also for his unwavering kindness. His gentle spirit touched many lives, and his legacy of compassion will continue to inspire all who A celebration of Keith's life will be September 26 at Meadowood Park Shelter #1 in Speedway where friends and family will gather to share stories, laughter, and tears, honoring the remarkable life he lived. There will be a light meal at 5PM. with service to follow. As we bid farewell to Keith, we hold tightly to the memories he leaves behind, grateful for the time we shared and the love that will continue to surround us. May he rest in eternal peace, forever in our hearts.
