Kay Holt

December 13, 1944 — March 30, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the peaceful passing of Kay Holt, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, who departed this world on March 30, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on December 13, 1944, in Huron, Missouri, Kay was the cherished daughter of Chester and Opal Hale. She was the youngest sister of the late Larry and Ron Hale and the beloved sister of Shirley VanCamp. Kay was a proud graduate of Bolivar High School, class of 1963. Following her passion, she became a talented hairdresser, opening her own home beauty shop where she styled hair with grace and joy for over 50 years. Her clients were not just customers, but friends who were treated with kindness, warmth, and a genuine smile that made every visit special. On April 12, 1969, Kay married the love of her life, Harold Holt. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and shared dreams in their Bolivar home. Their marriage of 57 years was blessed with two wonderful children, Stephen (Rosetta) and Sarah, who were the light of her life. Kay's family expanded further with the birth of her cherished grandchildren, Jeremiah and Naomi, with whom she spent countless joyous moments, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Kay was an active member of the Fairview United Methodist Church, a place where she and Harold worshipped faithfully for over 45 years. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she found great joy in her church community, where her gentle spirit and generous heart touched many lives. Her love for her family extended beyond her children and grandchildren to her grand cat, Scout, who brought her endless delight. Whether she was spending time with her family, tending to her beauty shop, or participating in church activities, Kay lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a deep commitment to those she held dear. Preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Kay's legacy of love and kindness lives on in the hearts of those she leaves behind: her devoted husband Harold, her beloved children and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Rosetta, her dear daughter Sarah, her loving sister Shirley VanCamp, her treasured grandchildren Jeremiah and Naomi, and her caring in-laws, Kenny (Janice) and Gerald (Noretta). As we bid farewell to Kay, we are comforted by the promise of reunion in heaven. Her family holds dear the hope that they will see her again, and this eternal promise brings solace in their time of grief. Kay’s life was a testament to love, faith, and family, and her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her. A celebration of Kay’s life will be held at Fairview United Methodist Church, where family and friends will gather to honor the remarkable woman she was. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Fairview United Methodist Church in Kay's memory, ensuring her spirit of giving continues to touch lives. Kay Holt will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will remain forever in the hearts of those she so lovingly touched.
