Kay Anderson

Kay Anderson, a beloved member of her community and cherished by her family, was born on November 13, 1938, in Dodge Center, Minnesota. She peacefully departed this world in Loveland, Colorado, on July 31, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and dedication. Raised by her loving parents, Sigvard and Geraldine Mogen, Kay grew up in a nurturing home that instilled in her the values she carried throughout her life. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard Anderson, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage that began on October 29, 1959. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, and Howard remained the love of her life until his passing. She is also predeceased by her brother John Mogen, brother-in-law Jerry Ingvaldson, and her in-laws Clarence and Mabelle Anderson. Kay's nurturing spirit led her to a career in nursing, having graduated from Dodge Center High School and the Methodist Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, Minnesota. Her commitment to caring for others extended beyond her professional life; she was a devoted farm wife and served as a church secretary, roles in which she found great fulfillment and joy. Her talents were boundless. Kay was a gifted seamstress and quilter, investing time and creativity into crafting beautiful pieces that warmed the hearts and homes of many. She was also an exceptional cook, known for her delightful culinary creations that brought family and friends together around the table. No gathering was complete without Kay's warm smile, a hallmark of her generous spirit and faithfulness. Kay is survived by her loving children: Cynthia Clanton and her husband Chuck, Pete Anderson and his wife Denise, and Becca Sletten and her partner Dennis Ringhofer. Her family was her pride and joy, and she leaves behind seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her legacy of love and compassion. She is also survived by her siblings, Karen Ingvaldson, Lucy Monahan and her husband William, and Jim Mogen and his wife Monica, along with her sister-in-law Tina Mogen and brother-in-law David Anderson and his wife Buggie. Her family was a cornerstone of her life, and their bond was a source of strength and comfort. In honor of Kay's generous spirit and her belief in the power of education, donations can be made to the Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas, an organization close to her heart. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Owatonna, Minnesota, where family and friends will gather to remember and honor the remarkable woman Kay was. Her life was a testament to love, kindness, and unwavering faith, and she will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate to know her.
