December 16, 1965 — June 1, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Katrina Lashawn Peoples, who left this world on June 1, 2026, at the age of 60. Born on December 16, 1965, in Columbus, Ohio, Katrina was the cherished daughter of Shirley Bridges-Waddell and Leonard Peoples. She departed this life surrounded by the love of her daughter, Ebony, and her sister, Terri, serenaded by her favorite gospel melody, “Total Praise” by Richard Smallwood. Katrina’s life was a testament to resilience, humor, and the beauty of human connection. She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Peoples, and dearest family members Princella Dixon, Trunetta, and Shelley Peoples. Her legacy, however, shines brightly through those she leaves behind: her loving children, Ebony Peoples, Brittany Osborne-Johnson, and Devon Peoples; her devoted siblings, Princella Peoples-Price, Terri Peoples, Leo Peoples, Leonard Peoples-Milner, and Lenore Milner-Lee; as well as her treasured grandchildren, Avion Smith, Anija Fields, Alyce Fields, Cameron Jamison, Paris Jamison, Devon Peoples, and Amora Peoples. The family tree continues to bloom with her 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and an extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and great-grandchildren, all of whom were touched by her warmth and spirited humor. Katrina's formative years were spent in the vibrant community of Columbus, where she attended Brookhaven High School. Her career was marked by a deep compassion for others, demonstrated through her work at Bridges to Independence, where she provided loving care to individuals with disabilities. Her dedication to her work was matched by her vibrant personal life, enriched by her love for the game of Spades and her passion for poetry and artistic expression. Katrina's comedic sense of humor was legendary, brightening the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She had an extraordinary gift for making people laugh, and her infectious laughter will echo in the hearts of her family and friends for years to come. Her poetry, filled with insight and emotional depth, was a reflection of her rich inner world and her desire to connect with others on a profound level. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Katrina’s Bold Age family, the dedicated staff at Doctor’s Hospital, and all who provided compassionate care during her final days. Your kindness and support have been a source of comfort during this difficult time. As we say goodbye to a remarkable woman, let us remember Katrina not with tears of sorrow, but with smiles of gratitude for the joy she brought into our lives. Her spirit will forever remain a guiding light, reminding us to laugh often, love deeply, and cherish each moment we are given. A celebration of Katrina’s life will be held at a later date, where stories and memories will be shared in her honor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Katrina’s name to Bridges to Independence, continuing her legacy of compassion and care. May Katrina Lashawn Peoples rest in eternal peace, forever embraced by the love she so generously gave.
