Born on January 4, 1988, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Katrina was a beacon of love and kindness whose presence enriched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. Katrina was the beloved daughter of Eulita Sealy, fondly known as "GirlToni," and Shawn Morris Hankerson. Her upbringing in Fort Lauderdale was filled with love, warmth, and the values that she carried with her throughout her life. She was predeceased by her cherished brother, Adrean Daniel Sealy, and is survived by her devoted husband, Foday Ansu Kanu, and her loving children, Emmanuel Dunkley, Samuel Dunkley, and Foday Kanu Jr. She leaves behind a family who adored her, including her dear Best Friend, Sequyoa Walker, and her treasured niece and nephew , Serenity and Jasiah Kenney. Katrina graduated from Open Campus High School in 2007, and though her formal education concluded there, her learning never truly ceased. She was always eager to expand her horizons, whether through new experiences, her career, or her hobbies. Her path led her to become a dedicated police officer, a role she embraced with courage and commitment. Katrina viewed her position not just as a job, but as a true calling, striving each day to protect and serve with integrity and compassion. Before her career in law enforcement, Katrina found joy in hair styling and barbering. Her skillful hands not only transformed the appearances of her clients but also uplifted their spirits, creating bonds that went well beyond the confines of a salon chair. Her passion for animals was equally profound, as she never hesitated to open her heart and home to creatures in need, offering them love and care with her characteristic warmth and generosity. Katrina's heart was as expansive as the sky, and her faith in God was the foundation of her life. She was a living testament to the power of kindness, believing firmly in the transformative impact of love and compassion. Her laughter was infectious, her smile radiant, and her presence comforting. She had an innate ability to make everyone around her feel seen, valued, and cherished. Her marriage to Foday Ansu Kanu on January 4, 2018, was a union built on love and mutual respect. As a wife, Katrina was unwavering in her devotion, and as a mother, she poured her heart into nurturing her children, ensuring they always felt loved and supported. Her family was her greatest joy and her most significant achievement. Katrina touched countless lives with her unwavering strength and resilience. She faced life's challenges with grace and determination, turning obstacles into opportunities for growth. She taught those around her the meaning of true strength and the importance of rising after every fall. A service celebrating Katrina's remarkable life will be held on July 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Divine Faith Ministries International, located at 9800 Tara Blvd, Jonesboro, GA, 30236.
