Katrina Cottom Obituary It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Katrina Cottom, who departed this world on August 11, 2026, into the loving arms of her Savior Jesus at the age of 52. Born on October 4, 1973, in Burley, Idaho, Katrina graced this earth with her presence, leaving a legacy of love, faith, and profound impact on all who knew her. She leaves behind a family and community that will forever cherish her memory. Katrina was the cherished daughter of Dean and LuAnn Hadden and was welcomed into the arms of Jesus after a short battle with cancer, discovered on July 21, 2026. Her journey, though brief, was fought with courage and faith, embodying the very essence of grace and strength. It was her living out 2 Timothy 4:7 " I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; On June 5th, 1993 Katrina married her high school sweetheart, Tim Cottom, at Sweetheart Manor in Burley, Idaho. Together, they shared 33 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Katrina was a devoted mother to Kaden (Tristine), Riley, Jakobi Nicholas (Blake), and Abbie, each of whom she adored with all her heart. She was the oldest of all her siblings, Jeremy Dunahoo (Christy), Kiki Hadden, Kimberly Skeith (Jonathan), Kari Oftedahl (Rob), Kenna Thompson (Kevin), Wesley Hadden, and Kelsi Lindsay (Josh), along with her mother, LuAnn Hadden, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who will forever hold her dear. She was preceded in death by Lois Hadden (Grandmother), Arthur Hadden (Grandfather), June Hadden(Grandmother), Laura Eaton Butler (Aunt), Dean Hadden (Father), Jean Hasselstrom (Grandmother), Elton Hasselstrom (Grandfather), and a set of miscarried twins. Katrina's life was a tapestry of dedication and devotion. A graduate of Burley High School, class of 1992, she pursued further education at the College of Southern Idaho. Her career began at The Farm Store in Burley, where she formed lifelong bonds with her coworkers. After marrying Tim, she managed Video City in Burley, later joining him in the family car business before dedicating herself to her most cherished role as a mother and homemaker. Her heart for service was evident in her work as an AWANA teacher and a youth leader at Paul Congregational Church and First Baptist Burley. Katrina and Tim were called to a higher purpose, founding the I.M.P.A.C.T. (Intentional Mission Practicing All Of Christ's Teachings) ministry in their home, based upon 2 Corintians 4:5 " For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants for Jesus’ sake". This brought many students and families closer to Jesus—a testament to her deep desire to make heaven crowded. Katrina's passions extended beyond her faith. She found joy and thrill in racing, spending weekends at Magic Valley Speedway with Tim during the early years of their marriage. She loved the outdoors, whether picnicking by a stream or exploring the St. Anthony dunes on a side-by-side ride. One year for Christmas Tim was seeking to get her the "perfect gift." It wasn't jewelery, perfume or a dress she wanted. No, to his shock "I want a gun." A 9MM pistol it was that she received for Christmas, and she loved to go shooting. As in typical Katrina humor people would ask, "what did you get Tim for Christmas" she replied "a life insurance policy." She was known for witty humor and was always up to a good prank as long as it didn't hurt anyone. A woman of unwavering faith, Katrina's greatest passion was to serve and honor the Lord. Her gift of hospitality was a blessing to all who entered her home. She had a radiant smile, a kind word, and an innate ability to listen and offer wisdom, traits that endeared her to everyone she met. Friends and family will be received from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Friday August 28th, 2026 at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home located at 1350 East 16th Street in Burley A celebration of Katrina's life will take place on Saturday August 29, 2026, at 1:00 PM at The Springs Calvary Chapel, located at 1430 17th St, Heyburn, Idaho 83336. They also extend their heartfelt gratitude to Teresa with Life Flight, Olivia in the Portneuf Medical Progressive Care Unit, Teena, Brittany, Dr. Anderson, and Dr. Syed in the Intensive Care Unit for their compassion and kindness during this difficult time. To all the friends and loved ones who joined in prayer and worship in the lobby at Portneuf Medical on the evening of Katrina's passing, the family thanks you for your support and love. Katrina's light shone brightly, and as she often reminded us, "Catch fire for the Lord and they will come for miles to watch you burn bright." Katrina's legacy of love, faith, and kindness will forever remain in our hearts. Live on victoriously in His perfect peace, dear Katrina, knowing that you have touched the lives of many and your spirit will continue to inspire us all. 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 O death, where is your victory?
