It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Katie Mae Foreman on April 17, 2026, at the age of 96. Katie departed this world surrounded by the love and warmth of her cherished family at Bethany Woods, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, love, and enduring strength. Born on April 6, 1930, in Albemarle, North Carolina, Katie was the beloved daughter of Jim Frank Hopkins and Selma Mary Pope Hopkins. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Harold Foreman, whom she married in 1948 in Stanly County. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and three wonderful children. Katie is also reunited in heaven with her parents, her treasured daughter, Ginger Johnson, her beloved son, Micky Foreman, and her siblings, John Larry Hopkins and Pauline Virginia Rinehardt. Katie's spirit continues to shine brightly through her surviving family: her devoted son, Christopher Eddie Foreman, her four adoring grandchildren, and her seven precious great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her beloved sisters, Jeanette Fields of Carthage and Maryrose Jones of Siler City, and her brother, James Hopkins of Albemarle, NC. Each of them carries a piece of her heart with them. Katie dedicated many years of her life to her career at Federal Pacific in Albemarle, NC, where she worked diligently until her retirement. However, it was her role as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that she cherished most. Her family was the center of her universe, and her love knew no bounds. A woman of faith, Katie was an active member of The Bible Tabernacle Church in Carthage, NC, for over forty years. Her steadfast devotion to her community and church family was a testament to her deep and unwavering faith. Katie found great joy in her garden, where she lovingly tended to her blackberry bushes and nurtured a bountiful harvest of vegetables. Her hands created magic in the kitchen, especially when she baked her famous pies, which she generously shared with family and friends. Her warmth and welcoming spirit touched all who had the privilege of knowing her. Those who knew Katie will remember her for her kindness, her radiant smile, and her generous heart. Her presence had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and cherished.
