In loving memory of Kathy Nunemacher, who departed this world on the 27th of April, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family, her life's journey was a testament to compassion, dedication, and the profound impact one individual can have on countless lives. Kathy was born on August 1, 1963, in the charming town of Palmerton, Pennsylvania, to her beloved parents, the late Edward and Viola Steigerwalt. From an early age, she exhibited a nurturing spirit that would become the hallmark of her career and personal life.
Kathy's pursuit of knowledge and excellence led her to graduate from St. Luke's School of Nursing in 1981, a stepping stone that would pave the way for her illustrious career in nursing. She furthered her education with a Bachelor's degree from Cedar Crest College and a Master's degree from Drexel University, always striving to enhance her skills and understanding in the field she was so passionate about.
For 25 remarkable years, Kathy devoted herself to St. Luke’s and the surrounding community, where she tirelessly worked to elevate the quality of care provided by the network. Her commitment to her profession was unwavering, and her compassion for her patients was unparalleled. Kathy's colleagues and the many patients she cared for will forever remember her gentle touch and reassuring presence.
Her professional accomplishments, though significant, were rivaled by the joy and love she found in her family. Kathy leaves behind her devoted husband of 44 years, Raymond, who was her partner in all things, sharing a life filled with laughter, adventure, and an unbreakable bond. Together, they raised two loving children, Eric and Heather, who brought immense pride and joy to her heart. Kathy cherished her relationships with her son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Ariel Nunemacher, and her daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Ryan Zellner. Her grandchildren, Jayson, Desirae, Raymond, and Parker, were the light of her life, each one holding a special place in her heart and bringing her endless happiness.
Kathy is also survived by her dear siblings, Carol Synder and Michael Steigerwalt, with whom she shared countless memories and a lifetime of love and support. Their bond was a testament to the strength and unity of family ties.
As we remember Kathy, let us celebrate the life of a woman whose kindness knew no bounds, whose dedication to her family and her career was inspiring, and whose legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her gentle spirit and unwavering love will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
In honoring Kathy’s memory, may we strive to emulate her compassion and dedication in our own lives, holding her spirit close in our hearts. A private memorial service will be held to honor her life and the indelible mark she has left on this world.
