Kathy McCoy
January 17, 1958 — June 11, 2026
With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the peaceful passing of Kathy McCoy on June 11, 2026. Born on January 17, 1958, in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, Kathy lived a life rich in love, kindness, and dedication to her family and community.
Kathy was the beloved daughter of Walter and Rose Weaver, who instilled in her the values of compassion and resilience. She was preceded in death by her parents and her dear sister, Pat Killinger. Kathy’s family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, William McCoy, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and companionship. Together, they built a family that was her pride and joy. Kathy’s legacy lives on through her children, Jason (Shirley) McCoy and Bobby Bowmaster, who carry forward her spirit of warmth and kindness. Her grandchildren, Brent (Hailey) Bowmaster and Aleasha Bowmaster, were a constant source of joy and inspiration for her, and she took immense pride in her great-grandson, Easton Bowmaster.
Kathy's heart was as big as her love for her family, and she extended that love to her community. A lifelong member of the Haneyville Fire Company, Kathy dedicated herself to helping others and made lasting friendships along the way. Her spirit of volunteerism and service was matched only by her passion for her hobbies, particularly her cherished miniature horses, which brought her endless delight and tranquility.
Educated at Bald Eagle Nittany, Kathy was known for her dedication and hard work. She spent much of her career at the former Kmart, where her colleagues remember her as a diligent and kind-hearted presence before she transitioned into retirement. Her work ethic and positive attitude left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
In accordance with Kathy’s wishes, no public viewing or services will be held. The family will gather privately to celebrate her life and honor the wonderful memories she left behind. Kathy’s gentle spirit, loving nature, and unwavering dedication to her family and community will be missed dearly but remembered fondly by all who knew her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered support and love during this difficult time. May we honor Kathy’s memory by carrying forward her legacy of love, kindness, and community service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Kathy’s memory to the Haneyville Fire Company, as a tribute to her lifelong commitment to helping others.
