In loving memory of Kathy Laurie Simpkins, a cherished soul who left this world on July 20, 2026, peacefully at her home in Onyx, CA. Born on October 20, 1962, in La Mirada, CA, Kathy was a beloved daughter of Thomas and Margret Messman. Kathy’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of love, laughter, and service. She was a devoted spouse to her husband, James Simpkins, who shared with her a life filled with joy and adventure. Her vibrant spirit and caring nature were also shared with her siblings: her sister Michelle Vance, brother Damon Messman, sister Debra Pearson, sister Heidi, and brother Wolfgang Shadduck, who will forever hold her memory dear in their hearts. An active and faithful member of the Weldon Christian Church, Kathy found great joy and purpose in her spiritual community. Her presence at the church was a testament to her unyielding faith and her commitment to serving others. Kathy's life was one of grace and humility, punctuated by her quick wit and infectious laugh, which brought light to the lives of all who knew her. Kathy had an immense love for animals, especially her dogs, whom she cared for with boundless affection. Her nurturing spirit extended to all creatures, great and small, reflecting her deep compassion and gentle heart. A celebration of Kathy's life will be held at 11am on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Weldon Christian Church, located at 20021 CA-178, Weldon, CA 93283. Following the service, friends and family are invited to gather in the church social hall to remember Kathy’s life and share in the joy that she brought to everyone she met. Kathy Laurie Simpkins leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will forever be cherished. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.
