Kathy Lee McManamon

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Kathy(Poynter) McManamon, who departed this world on July 9, 2026, at the age of 55. Kathy passed away peacefully in her home in the presence of her adoring family after a courageous battle with melanoma. w Kathy was born on September 8, 1970, in Salem, Ohio, to her devoted parents, Merle L. Poynter and Carol J. Poynter. She was predeceased by her cherished sister, Susan C. Poynter, and her father, Merle, whom she held incredibly close in her heart. Kathy's legacy lives on through her beloved family. She is survived by her loving children, Greg, Chris, Becca, Danny, Matthew (Abbie), and Sam, who were the pride and joy of her life. Her partner, Mike Crawford. Her mother, Carol J. Poynter. Kathy also leaves behind her sister, Donna M. Tanner (Harold), and brother, Merle L. Poynter (Michelle). A proud alumna of Southern Local High School, class of 1988, Kathy pursued her passion for nursing, graduating with a Bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University in 1992, followed by a MSN from Otterbein College. Her professional life was marked by dedication and compassion as both a nurse and educator. Kathy inspired and shaped the lives of countless nurses, earning the admiration and respect of her students and colleagues. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Kathy was a devoted mother who consistently supported her children in their pursuits, attending countless events and volunteering her time as a coach and chaperone. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family, as she formed meaningful friendships wherever she went, leaving a lasting impact on all those who had the privilege of knowing her. In her leisure time, Kathy found joy in crocheting, cooking, and indulging in her love for 90s sitcoms. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Kathy's memory to the Melanoma Research Alliance in Washington, DC, to further the cause she fought so bravely against. Kathy's vibrant personality, calming presence, and fierce advocacy for her loved ones and community will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her spirit will continue to inspire those she touched, and her memory will forever be cherished in our hearts.
