Kathryn Wynn Williams

Kathryn Wynn Williams, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away unexpectedly at her home on September 9, 2026. Born on January 7, 1955, in Augusta, Georgia, Kathryn was a beacon of love and kindness in the lives of all who knew her. Her generous spirit and warm heart left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.
The daughter of the late Henry Ashley Wynn and Mary Daniel Wynn, Kathryn grew up in a loving family alongside her siblings. She cherished her upbringing in Augusta, and it was here that she began to forge the many lasting friendships that would accompany her throughout her life. Kathryn was predeceased by her parents, her brother Charles Holman, and her sisters Pamela Wynn, Cassandra Jones, and Melinda Robinson.
Kathryn graduated from the Academy of Richmond County in 1973 and pursued further education at Paine College. During her time there, she was crowned Little Miss Muffin, a popular children's community pageant and fundraising event, showcasing her grace and charm. Her career began at the Medical College of Georgia, but she devoted over 30 years of her life to her family’s business, Wynn Plumbing, before retiring after several years of dedicated service with Unity of Augusta.
A devoted member of Moses Missionary Baptist Church, Kathryn was a woman of faith who found great joy in serving her community. She loved to travel, often accompanied by her family and friends, creating countless memories and sharing adventures that remain cherished by all who joined her.
Kathryn leaves behind her loving husband, Earch Leon Williams, and her devoted son, Carlos Williams and his wife Cynthia. She is also survived by her five cherished grandchildren: Antonio Morris and his wife Jessica, Carlos Williams Jr., DeVonte' Williams, Devon Williams, and Destiny Williams; and her precious great-granddaughter, Alauna Morris. Her surviving family also includes her aunt, Jesse Mae Wynn Warner; her sisters Gwendolyn Singletary and her husband Albert, Paulette Wynn, and Beverly Bell and her husband Michael; her cousin, Isaac McKinney and his wife Lydia; and a host of nieces, nephews, and her extended family of brothers and sisters in Christ.
A celebration of Kathryn's life will be held on October 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home, located at 314 Laney Walker Blvd A, Augusta, GA 30901. Her family invites all who knew her to join in honoring her remarkable life and legacy.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Kathryn's memory to a charity of your choice. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory forever be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
