Kathryn Sue Halsey

Kathryn Sue Halsey, affectionately known as Sue, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2026, in the loving presence of her family. Born on December 17, 1955, in Omaha, Nebraska, Sue was the cherished daughter of John and Laura Landess. Throughout her life, she embodied warmth, creativity, and an unwavering devotion to her family. Sue was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Irvin Halsey, who was her steadfast partner in life, as well as her parents, John and Laura Landess. She is survived by her devoted children, Laura Hensley and her husband Richard, who provided her with endless joy and companionship. Sue's legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Brittney, Alexzander, Elizabeth, Jennifer, and Savannah. She was also a beloved sister to Peggy, Jackie, and Johnny, and a cherished friend to many, including her close friend, Patty Scheiblhofer. Sue found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, especially when she was surrounded by family. Her home was often filled with the gentle hum of a sewing machine or the vibrant colors of her latest craft project. These hobbies were more than pastimes—they were expressions of her love and creativity, shared generously with those around her. Her spirit was one of kindness and unwavering love. Sue had an innate ability to make everyone feel welcome and cherished, creating a nurturing environment where family ties grew strong and lasting. Her laughter, wisdom, and gentle touch left an indelible mark on all who knew her. As a mother, grandmother, and friend, Sue's legacy is one of love and dedication. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she found immense pleasure in watching them grow and thrive. Though she had no great-grandchildren, the love she bestowed upon her family will surely ripple through generations.
