In Loving Memory

Kathryn Marie (Kirsch) Dixon
April 2, 1951 — May 11, 2026
Kathryn Marie (Kirsch) Dixon, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, left this world on May 11, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on April 2, 1951, at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California, Kathy was the beloved daughter of Theodore and Frances (Venus) Kirsch.
Kathy's life was a testament to the beauty of simplicity and the power of love. She was predeceased by her dear brothers Edward and Lawrence Kirsch, and her loving husbands, Ray Galceran and Gary Dixon. Though her family circle has seen loss, those who remain continue to feel her love. She is survived by her sisters Frances Stronks, Joanne Gardner, Mary Jeanne Stronks, Theresa Kirsch, and her brother James Kirsch. Kathy's legacy lives on through her sons Lawrence (Joelle), Eric (Summer), Jeff, and Travis (Karen) Galceran, Jesse Dixon, and her stepsons Gary and Rhon (April) Dixon. Her heart expanded with the birth of 13 grandchildren: Amanda, Amanda, Grant, Taryn, Travis, EllaMae, Paige, Brianna, Anisah, Marissa, Dalen, Cameron, and Cole, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
Kathy's education began at the Notre Dame Girls Academy in West L.A., and she graduated from Hamilton High School in 1969. She embraced her role as a stay-at-home mom with an enthusiastic heart, dedicating her early years to nurturing her beloved boys. Her home was a haven filled with the scent of blooming flowers from her garden and the warmth of lovingly sewn quilts. An artist at heart, Kathy found joy in crafting, sewing, and working with broken glass, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary. Reading was a constant companion, as she delved into the pages of countless stories.
Her professional journey led her to Douglas Aircraft, which later became The Boeing Company, where she served as an Expeditor until her retirement in 2010. Her colleagues remember her as a dedicated and diligent worker, but it was her joyful laughter and unwavering faith that truly defined her. Kathy was deeply rooted in her Catholic faith, a source of strength and solace throughout her life. Her final years were spent in devotion, praying for her family, friends, and all those she held dear.
Though she spent most of her adult life in the vibrant community of Huntington Beach, California, her heart forever belonged to the ocean waves. The beach was a sacred place for Kathy, where her laughter mingled with the sound of the surf, and her spirit soared as freely as the seagulls above.
Kathy's life will be honored in a private ceremony, a reflective gathering where family and close friends will share memories and celebrate the love she so generously gave. As we remember Kathy, we hold onto the laughter, the love, and the unbreakable bond of family she nurtured. Her legacy, woven from threads of kindness, creativity, and unwavering faith, will continue to inspire and uplift us all.
