With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kathryn Kirby, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who departed from this world on June 14, 2026. Kathryn's journey began on March 31, 1952, in the picturesque city of Boise, Idaho, where she was born to her cherished parents, Blain and Milly Kirby. She was a beacon of love and kindness, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Kathryn's life was a testament to creativity and beauty. She found immense joy in painting, a passion that allowed her to express her admiration for every flower and every hue. Her artwork was a window into her soul, demonstrating her love for creating beauty wherever she could. Through her art, Kathryn shared her view of the world, one filled with wonder and grace.
Family was the cornerstone of Kathryn's life. She was predeceased by her dear parents, Blain and Milly Kirby, her brother, David Kirby, and her beloved son, Theodore Pena, whose memories she held close to her heart. She is survived by her two cherished sons, Clay and Randy, who were her pride and joy. Her sister, Donnie, remained a constant companion and confidante throughout her life.
Kathryn's legacy lives on through her twelve beloved grandchildren, Cassandra, Shantel, Zackary, Braydon, Mason, Max, Carissa, Amber, Skyler, Courtney, Ashley, and one additional grandchild whose love she treasured. Her nine great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Anthoni, Jordan, Payton, Carson, Hanna, Cooper, Weston, and Elsie May, were the apples of her eye, and she delighted in their every accomplishment. Kathryn also leaves behind one precious great-great-granddaughter, Amora, who brought immense joy and light into her life.
Kathryn's warmth and compassion extended beyond her family, touching all who crossed her path. Her gentle presence and infectious laughter will be sorely missed but forever remembered by those who loved her.
A celebration of Kathryn's life will be held on June 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Infinite Banquet and Conference Center, located at 3515 N. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Ann, MO 63074. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor the beautiful legacy she leaves behind and to share stories of the joy she brought into the world.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Kathryn's memory to a charity of your choice, one that celebrates the beauty and creativity she so dearly cherished.
