Her memory will be forever cherished by her vibrant family, including her four children: Brian (Jan) Dean of Peoria, IL, Stephanie (Michael) McCullough of Kiowa, KS, Jennifer (Jerry) Payton of Fayetteville, AR, and Karin (Jeff) Flanigan of Streator, IL. They were the pride and joy of Kathryn's life, and she loved them dearly.
Her legacy continues through her 12 adored grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, with two more blessings on the way. Kathryn also leaves behind her cherished sisters, Donna Johnson of Roanoke, IL, and Mary (Gerald) Scharfenberg of Stanton, CA, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Kathryn found love and companionship with John McClure, whom she married on December 24, 1999. Their union was a testament to enduring love and companionship, and together they shared many happy years.
A woman of many talents, Kathryn had a passion for quilting and needlepoint. Her hands were never idle, and each stitch was made with love and care—a reflection of how she lived her life. Her creations were not just hobbies but gifts that she shared with her loved ones, providing warmth and comfort for generations.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kathryn's remarkable life on June 19, 2026, at 9:00 AM at Bethany Lutheran Church, located at 302 N Birch St, Wenona, IL 61377. It will be a time to honor her life, her love, and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of everyone she met.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to St. Jude or a charity of your choice, in Kathryn’s name, to continue her legacy of kindness and generosity.
As we remember Kathryn, we hold close the poignant words of Arthur Schopenhauer, "Mostly it is loss which teaches us about the worth of things." Though our hearts are heavy with her loss, we find solace in the countless memories and the profound impact she had on us all.
Kathryn Ann McClure will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the love she so generously gave and in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
