Kathleen Gillis(Minnich)

Kathleen, fondly known as Kathy, was a beacon of love and warmth, who peacefully departed from this world on September 5, 2026. Born on March 19, 1943, in Toledo, Ohio, Kathy was the beloved daughter of Opal and David. Throughout her life, she carried the values and love instilled by her parents, nurturing these qualities within her own family, which she cherished above all else. Kathy was predeceased by her devoted husband, Steve, her cherished daughter, Carole, and her brother, Mike. Despite these significant losses, Kathy's spirit remained unyielding, a testament to her strong will and feisty attitude that carried her through life's challenges with resilience and grace. She is survived by her loving children, Donna and Kenny, who were her pride and joy. Her legacy continues to flourish through her grandchildren: Michelle, Milissa, Morgan, Seth, Shane, Scott, Courtney, and Derek. Kathy's family tree extends further with 26 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, with one more on the way, each carrying a piece of her heart. Her nephew Dennis, great-nephews, great-great-nephews, niece Lisa, great-nieces, and great-great-niece remain, all touched by Kathy's loving presence. Kathy had a profound love for the outdoors, finding joy in camping and boating. However, her greatest passion was the time spent with her family. Each member held a special place in her heart, and she formed unique bonds with everyone. Kathy was known for her happy nature and loving spirit, traits that endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her family fondly remembers her as a woman who taught them to be strong and independent, to love deeply, and to find joy in life. "Grandma," they say, "we all want to thank you for the love you have shown us, the lessons in life that you walked with us through, and showing us what family really means. You taught us to be strong and independent, how to love and to laugh. You are missed more than words can describe. You will always be with us in our hearts." In honor of Kathy's memory, the family suggests that donations be made to a charity of choice, reflecting the generosity and compassion that she embodied throughout her life. Kathy's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched, a shining example of love and strength.
