With heavy hearts but profound gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Kathleen S. Whisonant on March 16, 2026. Kathleen departed this world peacefully, surrounded by the love and presence of her cherished family. Born on June 3, 1963, in the quaint town of Harlowton, Montana, Kathleen graced this world with her warmth and laughter for 62 remarkable years. Kathleen was the beloved daughter of Harry and Donna (Tony) Mitchell, who instilled in her the values of kindness, generosity, and resilience. Preceding her in death were her dear brother, Mike, and her sister, Deborah, who together with her parents, welcomed her into the eternal embrace. Kathleen's loving spirit endures in the hearts of her surviving family: her devoted husband, Charles Whisonant, with whom she shared 32 joyful years of marriage since January 8, 1993; her four sons, Luke, Mitchell, William, and Samuel, who were her pride and joy; her seven grandchildren, Dominick, Samantha, Camilla, Elisa, Willie Jr., Joseph, and Lyra Ann; and her precious great-grandchild, Kyra. Kathleen's legacy also survives in the memories of her sister, Deborah, and brother, Mike. Kathleen's professional journey was as vibrant as her personality. She dedicated many years to working as a bartender, where her quick wit and warm smile made every patron feel like a lifelong friend. Later, she brought her talents to Walmart, serving as a sales associate and claim representative until her retirement. Her colleagues remember her as the life of the workplace, always ready with a joke or story to lighten the mood. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Kathleen was a devoted grandmother, known for her boundless love, infectious humor, and zest for life. Her greatest joy was found in the simple pleasures of family gatherings, particularly those spent outdoors under the sun. She was the heartbeat of every celebration, her presence a beacon of joy and laughter that drew people together. Kathleen's generous spirit touched everyone she met. She had a unique gift for making everyone feel welcomed and valued, leaving an indelible mark on countless lives. Her kindness and open-heartedness were unmatched, her legacy a testament to the love she gave so freely. A celebration of Kathleen's life will be held on April 11, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Christian Life Center, located at 3801 South Russell Street, Missoula, MT 59801. Family, friends, and all whose lives she touched are warmly invited to gather in her memory, to share stories and to honor the remarkable woman she was.
