Kathleen Diane Shireman

February 28, 1943 — June 5, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kathleen Diane Shireman, who departed this world peacefully on June 5, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on February 28, 1943, in South Bend, Indiana, Kathy graced the lives of those around her with warmth, love, and an unyielding spirit. Kathy was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Calvin Shireman, with whom she shared over 50 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they created a nurturing home filled with love and laughter, raising two cherished daughters, Nancy Doubet and Melissa Shireman. Kathy's family was her greatest joy, and she took immense pride in the lives and accomplishments of her children and her two treasured grandsons. A born entrepreneur, Kathy's flair for business and her innate ability to connect with people led her to open The Added Touch Beauty Supply in the late 1980s. Her store quickly became a beloved local establishment, known not only for its quality products but for the genuine friendships Kathy cultivated with her clients. Her dedication and passion for her work endured until her full retirement in 2024, marking the end of a fulfilling career. Beyond her professional life, Kathy was a spirited adventurer, always at the helm of planning fun and memorable family trips. From the sun-kissed shores of Hawaii to the serene beauty of camping trips and lake weekends, Kathy's sense of adventure was infectious. Her grandsons, in particular, held dear the summer adventures she orchestrated, including exploring ghost towns, panning for gold, and embarking on thrilling scavenger hunts. These experiences, rich with love and laughter, are fond memories that her family will cherish forever. Kathy was predeceased by her loving husband, Calvin, whom she dearly missed. She leaves behind her adoring daughters, Nancy and Melissa, and her two grandsons, who were the lights of her life. Although she did not get to meet any great-grandchildren, her legacy will undoubtedly continue through the stories and love shared by her family. In accordance with Kathy's wishes, a private ceremony will be held to celebrate her life. While she may no longer be with us in person, her spirit, kindness, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. In honoring Kathy's memory, let us remember her adventurous spirit, her entrepreneurial drive, and the love she so generously shared. We invite those who knew her to reflect on the joy she brought into their lives and to carry forward her legacy of love, laughter, and adventure.
