In Loving Memory of Dr. Kathleen Caldwell Lombardi May 31, 1957 – July 18, 2026 It is with profound sadness and immeasurable love that the family of Dr. Kathleen Caldwell Lombardi announces her passing on July 18, 2026, at the age of 69. Kathleen lived a remarkable life defined by intelligence, compassion, strength, and an unwavering devotion to her family. She attended Johns Hopkins University and continued her graduate studies at Harvard University. She went on to build a distinguished career as a radiologist, dedicating her professional life to medicine and the care of others. Although Kathleen’s accomplishments were many, her family remained the greatest source of pride and happiness in her life. She was the loving and devoted wife of Carl Lombardi, with whom she shared a marriage beginning in 1990. Together, they built a life grounded in love, loyalty, and family. Kathleen is survived by her two beloved children, Jacob Lombardi and Cayla Lombardi Anderson, and her cherished grandson, Nicholas Jr. She loved her children unconditionally and took tremendous pride in the people they became. The joy she found in being a grandmother was equally profound. Kathleen was strong, fearless, and fiercely protective of those she loved, yet she possessed a heart of gold. She was a loyal friend, a trusted physician, and a source of comfort and guidance to countless people throughout her life. Her determination and resilience were matched only by her kindness, generosity, and compassion. She was also deeply proud of her family’s distinguished tradition of service to the United States. Kathleen descended from a long lineage of United States Naval Academy graduates and was the cousin of living four-star Admiral James Caldwell. The values of honor, discipline, leadership, and service that defined her family’s naval heritage were reflected throughout Kathleen’s own life and medical career. Kathleen’s legacy will live on through the patients she cared for, the friendships she nurtured, and, most importantly, the family she loved beyond measure. Her strength will continue to inspire them, her wisdom will continue to guide them, and her love will remain forever present in their hearts. Following her memorial services, Dr. Kathleen Caldwell Lombardi will be laid to rest at the United States Naval Academy Cemetery, surrounded by the history, tradition, and family legacy that meant so much to her.
